Volunteer Experience

During summer of 2025, I volunteered and shadowed at the Felege Hiywot Center, a nonprofit organization in Indianapolis dedicated to empowering urban youth through experiential education and community engagement. During my time there, I supported programs that teach young people practical life skills, leadership, and responsibility through hands-on activities like urban farming, environmental stewardship, and cooking. The center’s youth-led initiatives help students develop teamwork, entrepreneurship, and community service values while fostering a positive space for growth and learning. This volunteer experience deepened my understanding of youth development, nonprofit programming, and the importance of mentorship in strengthening community impact.
