Student Organizations

The Ethnics Mental Wellness Association (EMWA) was founded with a vision to create a safe and empowering space focused on mental health within ethnic communities. This organization was built from the ground up, starting with the creation of its name, mission, branding, and logo. What began as an idea grew into a recognized student organization centered on advocacy, education, and community impact. Founding EMWA required initiative, resilience, and a strong belief in the importance of culturally aware mental health conversations.

As President, leadership extended beyond managing meetings and events. Each executive board member was guided through their role, all with no prior leadership experience. Time was invested in teaching responsibilities, developing confidence, and modeling patience and accountability. This experience strengthened skills in mentorship, delegation, organization development, and strategic planning. EMWA became more than an organization; it became a platform for empowering others to lead and grow.

Women Empowerment & Leadership Development (WELD) - Co-founder and Vice President

Women Empowerment and Leadership Development (WELD) was co-founded to create a space that supports women in building confidence, leadership skills, and professional growth. In this role, support was provided in developing the organization’s structure, clarifying its mission, and guiding overall direction. A key contribution included mentoring a fellow founder on how to build and manage a student organization, including leadership structure, role delegation, event planning, and organizational strategy. This experience strengthened skills in collaboration, mentorship, and empowering others to lead with confidence.
